There was a difference between having the energy to do something external and have the energy for self-care. It was a subtle difference, but one that Nicky was well acquainted with. He could always find the energy to make dinner for the house or make sure Joe had space to work on a new canvas, but the same could not always be said for finding time for himself. It was a battle he was slowly starting to win, and the least he could do was offer to make her battle a little less uncomfortable.

He smiled, dipping his head in a small nod. "I do. Whenever you have time, feel free to come get me. Most of dinner for tonight is going to be letting this simmer for as long as I can keep Andy out of it. There will be time."
